Iggy Azalea has blamed streaming for her album flop, admitting she feels ‘defeated’ after In My Defense failed to do well in the US charts.
Plus she was up against with stars like Peppa Pig – there was some stiff competition. The 29-year-admitted she was feeling ‘defeated’ before clarifying: ‘I think sometimes I feel defeated because I look at the chart and see how much streaming impacts it, and think how can I win when I’m up against THAT?
‘But I also feel like: okay, and? There are two options. Quit. Or shut up And just keep fighting. So I’ll keep on fighting!’
The Fancy rapper’s second album was released this month and reached number 50 on the US Billboard 200, while it hit number 36 on the UK Digital Albums chart. However, she previously insisted she doesn’t care about the numbers.
When asked on Twitter if she was excited for the album, she wrote: ‘Yes & I just want to say now, I don’t give a f*** if only 42 ppl buy it. All 42 of y’all getting another album next year. I’m not stoppingggg (sic).’
